One of my favorite pastimes is studying petroglyphs. I am sharing some of my research into petroglyphs found at McConkie Ranch in Uinta Basin, Utah. I hope to make another video about this topic and how much futher I have gotten. My previous video about McConkie Ranch, explains a bit about the characters depicted in the petroglyphs and other rock art.

Hi, It's been a while. My interests have changed a bit. Lost ancient technology, history, science, and especially petroglyphs, have always fascinated me. About a year ago, i discovered the Uinta Basin in Utah, the site of Skinwalker Ranch and Blind Frog Ranch and i am hooked. So hopefully i will post my observations here. BAM! There it is! My results after using Rodan + Fields Soothe Regimen for 2 months. I hate long reviews, so that's it, something improved...keep reading to see the details. I'm not a writer, I'm a engineer, a YouTuber, a Blogger, who likes makeup. I don't sell these products, in fact I didn't buy them, they were gifted to me from a friend who thought they would help my skin. I promise my honest review of them. If you are researching this regimen then, you probably don't need to be bothered by the details of where to buy, prices, and promises of the skincare. But hell, let's do that quickly so my review is complete.
It retails for $170, but with a subscription you can save a little
It promises to reduce visible redness and calm sensitive skin
It is a 4 step process
I have rosacea and sensitive skin. Trying new products can be really difficult when so many ingredients cause redness and stinging. So I was initially hesitant to test this out.
Step 1 is a gentle cream cleanser, it contains ceramides. It is not a foaming face wash. I used coconut oil to remove my eye makeup, but used this wash to remove makeup as well as clean my face. It really worked well, with no redness, itching, buring, nothing bad at all. Success
Step 2 is the skin treatment; it contains Allantoin and peptides. A little goes a long way. There is something in this treatment that immediately makes the redness seem calmer. Again, I had no bad reactions.
Step 3 is a moisturizer. Since I usually use some heavy duty moisturizers, I was skeptical that this would work alone. But it did! I was shocked that I didn't need to supplement with anything else. No itching, stinging, or redness.
Step 4 is where everything went wrong for me. Step 4 is the SPF 30 sunscreen. It contains Titanium Dioxide (2%) and Zinc Oxide (12%). I think it's the zinc oxide that I cannot handle. Something about this formula made my face much more red and angry with some stinging around my nose area.
At night, applying Steps 1-3, my face looked excellent.
In the morning, when I used the sunscreen, it got much worse. Foolishly I continued using the sunscreen for 3 weeks. Then I quit the sunscreen and continued the regimen using my regular sunscreen.

Results:
After 2 months you can see the results. Definitely my face is less red in the forehead and chin area. My cheeks don't show much change. It is so difficult to get similar photos, so I apologize for the squinting eyes. I can tell you that the wrinkles under my eyes showed no improvement, but the elevens between my eyes look better. Also there were some small wrinkles on my upper lip, that don't appear in the photos well, but they also improved significantly. By the time my 2 month test period was up, I still have significant product left, leaving me to believe that I could likely get 3 months out of these products.

Final thoughts - Would I buy it again?
Well, Yes
and no. I think there is something there that works. At $170 for a 2-3 month supply. It's expensive. Looking at the pictures is interesting because I actually see more improvement then I noticed from daily use. But the price is just too high for me. Plus, the sunscreen is useless for me. I'm no expert, but I think the active ingredients: Allantoin and the peptides Oligopeptide-10 and Tetrapeptide-16 were the most important factors. I could be wrong; I might need all the steps, but for my next skincare regime, I purchased the Rodan and Fields Radiant Defense, which contain these same peptides. I also will be looking into these dupes.

It's certainly well priced at $14.80 You may wish to try out Rodan + Fields Radiant Defense, as I have. For the Cleanser, which is rich in ceramides, Look at CeraVe Baby, wash or CeraVe Hydrating Cleanser.
So is it a pyramid scheme. Recently "The Dream" a podcast by Jane Marie investigates Limelife by Alcone by sending a reporter undercover. The results are alarming, disturbing even, but not necessarily conclusive as to the question of whether or not Limelife by Alcone is a pyramid scheme.
I've got a list of reasons why I believe that Limelife by Alcone looks like a pyramid and a few reasons why I have problems with their business model, that raise several red flags. Watch my video and see what I think.

It's time to wrap the presents.
I needed some shoes/boots to keep my feet dry for walking the dog. I went to a new LLBean store opening in Rockville, MD and tried on tons of boots. In the end these bison boots won, they are exactly what I wanted. Here's me, trying out my new boots...
So watch me clean my silver bowls so I can use them for decorations for the holidays. It's an easy way to clean with no scrubbing.
Korra needs to walk in the morning. Some days we walk through the neighborhood, and socialize with all the dogs and owners. But some days, I just want to relax and spend time alone with Korra. Not to mention, let her run free, jump and play, instead of heeling and controlling her desires to jump up on everyone we meet. On these relaxing mornings we walk in the backyard and surrounding woods. As it has been getting cooler, the grass is wet in the morning and I found that I do not have the proper gear. Wet feet and wrecked sneakers are not fun.
L.L. Bean opened a new store nearby and we had to go check it out. It's not quite as big as the one in Tyson's Corner, but they had a great selection of duck boots and I think I tried them all on, from the high end shearling lined to the basic duck shoe. Dan did too. It took forever, and strangely the employees were so helpful. My, we are the indecisive ones. In the end they recommended that we apply for a credit card to get an additional 15% off, plus the 25% off sale. So we went home, applied for the card and filled our shopping cart: Matching boots, 8" Bison boots #beanboots
It's never been easy to figure out what my skin undertones are. I may be 2 toned. Watch me take the tests and help me decide. Am I cool toned or am I warm?
Despite spending the last six months obsessed with the company and the products, I decided that I do not want to be a Beauty Guide with Limelight by Alcone. I will not enroll with them. And here's why...
1. Too many night phone calls and meetings. I just don't want to be bothered by them. I like my nights to myself.
2. I want my freedom to post what I want and not constantly be super positive and excited about my "business" venture.
3. I will annoy my friends and family with constantly posting about makeup. What if everyone on Facebook was trying to sell you something?
4. When I contact old friends, I don't want them thinking that I am just trying to sell makeup to them. And worse, what if I was.
5. I don't know enough people on facebook to make the required sales, so I would have to meet new people.
6. My friends live far from me, and I want them to be able to try the products before they buy.
7. I'm not a makeup artist and look like an idiot when making videos.
8. It's a pyramid scheme.
9. While the products are great, they are overpriced and hard to use. I wouldn't feel right selling them to my own mother and best friends.
10. I don't feel excited about telling people, "I sell makeup for Avon, I mean Limelight"
But, I still love their products. So yes, I'll just continue to purchase them from my sister-in-law, Sheila. But I’m not going to be a beauty guide ever. Final decision.

I'm a review junkie; I hate buying anything without first reading tons of opinions. Unfortunately with new products it can be hard to find reliable reviews. When looking for reviews about Limelight by Alcone products, almost all by "beauty guides" which is code word for Limelight by Alcone's salespersons. I don't really trust their opinions on their products. Not because I think them untrustworthy but because I've read their contract.
I know that beauty guides are bound by contract to not say anything negative about Limelight or their products. But who am I to give a review...I'm certainly not a makeup artist or a beauty guru. I do not sell Limelight and I'm definitely not a professional. I'm just a real regular 40-something year old woman who bought their products.
Now finally on to the review. How does it work???
Let's start by looking at their claims.
Check, Check, Check, Check...It mets all it's claims. I love this primer. However, I must note that you will see your PORES; it doesn't accentuate them, but it doesn't hide them either. What it does best is enable a beautiful smooth application that lasts all day long! I tested this primer with 3 different foundations and it worked beautifully with all.
I have sensitive skin. I had no ill effects from this primer: no redness, no itching, no burning. Frequently I will break out in cyclic pimples from different primers especially on my lower cheek area. With this primer... no pimples!!!
I have also have Rosacea (Subtype 1). I loved how the spray kept me from touching my face and so it didn’t make my skin more red from applying primer. Absolutely no issues for my rosacea. None!
If you are buying Limelight by Alcone's Botanical Foundation I would say this primer is a must buy. It helps the foundation achieve the smooth skin like finish. It also makes it last forever, okay, all day and overnight actually. It really works. I swear, I use so much less foundation when I'm primed with First Base Primer. Let's talk about Cost
First Base Primer Spray retails for $32 for 4 fl.oz. Which is not cheap, but it's on par with other high end primers. However, according to several beauty guides, this primer is made by Skindivinia. I’m not sure if the formula is the same, but it’s possible. At their website Skindinavia.com there is often a 25% off sale and free shipping, letting you purchase a primer and setting spray for $37.50. So for an extra buck you get a setting spray and 2 travel size bottles of primer and setting spray. If they are the same product, then the Limelight First Base Primer is not a good deal. But I don't know if they are identical dupes.
Final Thoughts:
I really like this primer. I have been using it for about 2 months and the bottle seems full. So it will be a while until I need a new one. I will consider trying the Skindinavia primer and setting spray when I run out. But maybe not. Rosacea and sensitive skin make it risky to try new things, so when I find something that works, I tend to stick with it.
When I think about Limelight by Alcone, the company consistently does what it claims. It introduces amazing professional products to regular people who normally would never try them out. So it's really hard to be mad about overpaying for something that works great.

Traveling abroad is so exciting. So much is the similar to the US, but what's different can be confusing. Even in Europe, something as simple as eating out in a restaurant can be an awkward experience. After six years living in Brussels, I have a few dining tips to share.
A Menu is not called a menu. It's called Le Carte. Think "a la carte".
A menu (sometimes called Prix Fixe) is a fixed price meal deal. If you order the Menu, you get the whole meal including appetizer and dessert and sometimes drinks also. Here's an example from one of my favorite places Scheltema. These menus are sometimes listed on chalk boards outside. In this menu below, for one set price, you will get three courses: the gazpacho, the mussels with fries or grilled steak with bearnaise sauce and fries, and chocolate mousse for dessert.
Dinner is late starting around 8pm.
Meals take a long time, around 3 hours if you have several courses. Expect to wait a lot; it's not bad service, it's just the way it works. Basically that table is yours for the night, so relax, with good company and lots of time to talk.
The english menu doesn't have the same items, so get both a regular menu and the english version to compare if you need.
Usually it's best to call for a reservation, even if you call on the way over to the restaurant.
For outdoor cafes, just sit down at an open table. At most places you do not have to ask. Remember sometimes it takes a long time to be served.
Entrees are appetizers, not main dishes like in the US.
The staff will not bring the check. You must flag down the waiter and ask for it. Ask for the "bill" not the "check" or in French..."l'addition s'il vous plaît"
No Tipping - It's included in the price of the meal. Do not tip, even if the receipt has a place for it.
